Vancouver’s economy

Sandy is an experienced, innovative businessperson who understands Vancouver’s business climate, economy and future economic challenges.

She was owner and operator of three Metro Vancouver taxi companies and was responsible for their innovative modernization. Comprising one of the largest privately held taxi fleets in Canada at the time, the three operations provided employment for approximately 250 people.

Since the sale of those companies, Garossino has been active in private investments and in incubating new businesses. She is founder and CEO of Intellex Legal Project Management Inc., a recent startup company that employs technology innovations and contracted services to drive down legal costs.

In addition, Sandy is actively involved in the development of economic ties between Vancouver, India and East Asia. She sits on the SFU India Advisory Council and has ties to UBC’s Asia strategy through her support for the Institute for Asian Research. The objective of both universities is to develop closer links with Asia and attract more graduate students from India’s legendary IIT’s. She knows that Vancouver’s future success will be contingent on its ability to produce and attract an innovative, technologically advanced, knowledge-based economy.
